What is a Mystic?

Mysticism is the practice of expanding your knowledge and consciousness in hopes of achieving a deeper understanding and contact with Source. I'm using the term 'Source' to be used interchangeably with 'Universe' and 'God' however, I am referring to the One and Only... the Highest
Power... All That Is... whatever that may mean to you. Mysticism, though, is more than this... it's more than words can explain... It's a knowing. But once you awaken it, there is no going back to sleep.

A Mystic is someone who dedicates their life to furthering their knowledge of the unknown and strives to uncover the hidden truths of the world. However, we know that the universe is expansive and there is no way for one human to know it all. The Universe is infinite and unfathomable in it's entirety. This is the basis of a Mystic's life work. To uncover and use for the highest good what they are meant to, in order to reach a higher consciousness and make that deep, unique connection with Source.

We are questioners. What is life? Why am I here? What is my purpose? What is the purpose of humanity as a whole? I could go on forever with the questions that are constantly running through my mind. It is in questioning and experiencing that a mystic develops a higher consciousness and builds their belief system.

Furthering the discussion of belief systems, mystics tend to breakdown the hierarchy within religious organizations. Generally speaking, long time rituals and traditions are not as prevalent in a mystic's spiritual practice. We value our own selves in relation to the Divine and understand that spirituality is unique to each and every one of us. Mystics place value on and trust in their own morality, the messages they receive directly from Source and most importantly, their intuition.

Finally, a mystic deepens their connection to the divine, the universe as one, and all the energies around them through personal growth. And really, we feel all of these are connected. We are all a unique aspect of all that is... we are all one, and fueling the collective 'one' is none other than love. Mystics believe that it is love which is the source of all life. We are a vessel for the divine here on Earth, and divine love flows through us all and has the ability to give power to everything.

Being a mystic, we understand that we can open ourselves up to have the power of divine love and knowledge flowing through us. We use this ability to spread the wisdom we've acquired to help others, resulting in the uplifting of the collective consciousness of human kind.
